Nottinghamshire have announced that Riki Wessels has signed a new three-year contract at Trent Bridge.
The 30-year-old batsman, who arrived in the East Midlands five years ago, has scored 6,792 runs from his 177 appearances.
"We knew Riki was a highly talented player when he came here and since then he has blossomed fantastically in all forms of the game," director of cricket Mick Newell told the club's official website.
"We pride ourselves on making players that come to Trent Bridge better and Riki is a good example of that.
"He's a good team man, he bats at six, he bats at one, he bats at three, he bats all over the place and does his job very efficiently."
In the absence of Chris Read and James Taylor, the Aussie captained Nottinghamshire last year.
