Surrey bowler Chris Tremlett has backed the team's decision to sign former England batsman Kevin Pietersen.
Pietersen was snapped up by Surrey on a Twenty20 contract this afternoon, having seen his international career come to an end in highly controversial circumstances.
The ECB cited a lack of trust as the reason behind axing the 33-year-old, but Tremlett was confident that he would prove to be an important signing for Surrey.
"Great to see that @KP24 has agreed to play with @surreycricket this year. Look out county bowlers!! Glad I'm on the same side," Tremlett wrote on Twitter.
Pietersen will also be available to play in the County Championship for Surrey as part of his contract.
