Mike Hussey, Jacques Kallis lead Sydney Thunder to win

The opening partnership of Mike Hussey and Jacques Kallis lead Sydney Thunder to a 56-run win over Brisbane Thunder in the Big Bash League.

Mike Hussey and Jacques Kallis put on an opening stand of 160 to lead the Sydney Thunder to a 56-run victory over Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League.

The duo's partnership came to an end in the 17th over when Cameron Gannon sent Hussey packing just four runs short of a century.

Newly-appointed England one-day captain Eoin Morgan came in at three to add 12 off five balls, while Kallis finished the innings not out on 97.

The Heat got off to a difficult start in their reply as Simon Milenko was out for a duck inside the first over, while Kallis remove Dan Christian just a few minutes later to reduce Brisbane to 14-2.

Christopher Lynn [40] and Nathan Reardon [49] provided some resistance, but both fell short of the half-century mark as the team slipped to 133-5 off 14.3 overs.

Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff came in at seven to make his debut for the team, but failed to get off the mark after facing just three balls.

Flintoff's dismissal triggered a collapse from the lower order, as the final five batsman added just four runs as Brisbane were bowled out for 152 in less than 18 overs.
