Perth Scorchers have secured a six-wicket win in their opening Champions League T20 match against South African side Dolphins this afternoon.
Dolphins inserted, but a knock of 64 from Khayelihle Zondo led them to a total of 164 off their 20 overs, with Keshav Maharaj [29] and Daryn Smit [21] also contributing.
Jason Behrendorff was the pick of the bowlers for the Australian side, claiming three wickets for 46 runs to ensure that their opponents could not get partnerships going.
Adam Voges was dismissed early on as Perth chased 165 for victory, but Craig Simmons [48] and Sam Whitman [45] steadied the ship.
Dolphins bowled well to keep the run rate down, and left the Scorchers needing 15 off their final four deliveries, but Mitchell Marsh hit the winning runs off the final ball of the match to clinch the win.
