The Sydney Sixers held off a late onslaught from the Melbourne Renegades to secure a win at the Etihad Stadium to reach the semi-finals of the Big Bash.
Earlier, the visitors posted 151-6, aided by Moises Henriques's 55 off 39 balls who shared partnerships with Michael Lumb (18) and Steve Smith (25) before falling to Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
The Renegades' reply started with only the loss of opener Daniel Harris as they kept wickets in hand.
However, when the hosts lost Alex Doolan with the score at 91-3, they appeared to relinquish their early momentum despite the best effort of top scorer Dwayne Bravo with 38 off 30 deliveries, with the required run-rate steadily increasing.
Needing 17 off the final over, former Australian international bowler Brett Lee kept Melbourne from an unlikely success with the Renegades falling three runs short of their target.
The result means the Sixers are guaranteed a place in the last four of the competition.
