Sydney Thunder have won their first match of this season's Big Bash League thanks to a nine-wicket victory over Melbourne Renegades at the Etihad Stadium.
Hosts Melbourne won the toss and put themselves into bat first before they were bowled out for a modest total of 104.
However, Sydney made light work chasing down their target as they reached 105 for the loss of just one wicket and with around 10 overs remaining.
Daniel Harris (30), Ben Rohrer (22) and Peter Nevill (14) were the only Melbourne batsmen to make it into double figures, while Aaron Finch had a night to forget after being bowled out for a second-ball duck.
Gurinder Sandhu was the pick of the Sydney bowlers with figures of 3-21. Meanwhile, Ajantha Mendis, Dirk Nannes, Andrew Tye and Chris Tremain were also among the wickets.
Tillakaratne Dilshan (46) was the only wicket to fall for the visitors when he was dismissed by James Pattinson, but Usman Khawaja (46 not out) and Mike Hussey (9 not out) made sure that Sydney got over the line for their first points of the campaign.
