Nic Maddinson's knock of 85 helped to anchor Sydney's innings, while Riki Wessels (24), Michael Lumb (32) and Moises Henriques (27 not out) also contributed.
Kane Richardson, Ben Laughlin and Shaun Tait took three wickets apiece for the Strikers, who claimed their other victim when Lumb was run out.
Despite 22 from tail-ender Laughlin, Adelaide struggled to match their opponents with the bat out in the middle.
Tim Ludeman (15), Brad Hodge (20) and Johan Botha (10) were the only other players who reached double figures as the Sydney bowling attack tore through their top and middle order.
Doug Bollinger ended with three wickets, Sean Abbot, Nathan Lyon and Steve O'Keefe all claimed two, and Brett Lee finished with one wicket to his name.
