Scotland bowler Majid Haq has been sent home from the Cricket World Cup due to a "breach of Cricket Scotland's internal code of conduct".
Haq, who is his country's all-time leading wicket-taker with 258, was left out of the team to face Sri Lanka on Wednesday having only managed three wickets in four matches at the tournament so far.
The 32-year-old, who was born in Scotland but is of Pakistani descent, tweeted "Always tougher when you're in the minority! #colour #race", only to later delete the post.
Cricket Scotland refused to confirm whether the message on social media was behind Haq's dismissal, releasing a statement that read: "Following a breach of Cricket Scotland's internal code of conduct, international team member, Majid Haq, is travelling home from the ICC World Cup.
"No further statement will be issued until internal processes have been completed in due course."
Scotland fell to a 148-run defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka to make it five losses from five ahead of their final group game against Australia in Hobart on Saturday.
