Hashim Amla century leads South Africa to 304

Hashim Amla scores 124 runs as South Africa set New Zealand a victory target of 305 in the first one-day international between the two nations.

Hashim Amla's 21st one-day international century helped South Africa to post a total of 304 runs in their clash against New Zealand at Centurion this afternoon.

The 32-year-old was eventually bowled by Adam Milne for 124, having contributed three sixes and 13 fours.

For much of Amla's time at the crease he was accompanied by Rilee Rossouw, who made 89 runs off 112 deliveries before he was dismissed by Mitchell McClenaghan.

However, there was not such positive form shown by Morne van Wyk (16), AB de Villiers (9) and David Miller (14), all of whom were sent back to the pavilion without having troubled the score too much.

Farhaan Behardien (15) and debutant David Wiese (14) were also removed as the innings drew to a close with the home side seven wickets down.
