Marvan Atapattu has been confirmed as the head coach of Sri Lanka on a permanent contract.
The 43-year-old had been in interim charge of the team ever since Paul Farbrace stepped down from the position to join England's coaching setup in April.
The likes of former England batsman Mark Ramprakash and Mickey Arthur were linked with the post, but the SLC have now decided that Atapattu is the right man to take the country forward in all formats of the game.
Atapattu is the first Sri Lanka-born coach to have taken charge of the national side since 1999.
