Samuels pleased with unbeaten century

West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels has said that it was "great" to have scored an unbeaten century against England on day one of the second Test at Trent Bridge.

With the tourists on 84-4 at lunch, an unbeaten knock of 107 from Samuels helped the Windies end the day on 304-6.

"I came in and started batting a lot of balls and know that I had to spend a lot of quality time to get runs in England," he said.

"It's great to come to England to score runs against the number one team."

Samuels will start at the crease with Darren Sammy (88 not out) on Saturday.
