The West Indies have been crowned champions of the world in the 20-over format of the game.
They achieved the feat with a 36-run over hosts Sri Lanka in Colombo earlier today.
Captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat first. His decision looked to have been a poor one when his side managed to record just 32 runs from the first 10 overs.
However, Marlon Samuels struck six sixes on his way to making 78 runs and in doing so got his side up to 137-6 from their permitted 20 overs.
Sri Lanka struggled in reply and were eventually bowled out for 101 during the 19th over.
The defeat was Sri Lanka's fourth in as many finals.
