Michael Clarke and Steven Smith steadied the ship for Australia in the opening session of the second Test against the West Indies in Kingston.
The pair put on a 75-run third-wicket partnership for the tourists after the inspired Jerome Taylor had removed David Warner and Shaun Marsh early on.
The Windies won the toss, electing to bowl, and had Warner out for a duck on just the third ball of the Test when Shai Hope took a catch.
Marsh reached 11 but was gone on the last ball of the fifth over when Taylor got him lbw. That brought captain Clarke to the crease and he has reached 35 next to Smith (38).
Taylor finished the session with six maidens in six overs and two wickets.
