China's Zeng Sini sets the first world record in the women's CS individual pursuit at the Velodrome.

A new world record has been set in the women's CS individual pursuit courtesy of a blistering display from China's Zeng Sini at the velodrome.

The 24-year-old, who has just one leg, booked a place in the record books with a time of 4:19.841 at an average speed of 41.5kmph.

Meanwhile, the athlete's compatriot He Yin looked likely to clinch a Paralympic record in the first heat after overtaking Austria's Anita Ruetz but just slipped back slightly in the final lap.

Great Britain have also been successful on the track with Sarah Storey, who broke a world record in the women's individual C5 pursuit heat and will contest for a gold medal, while Crystal Lane will fight for bronze later this afternoon.
