Rohan Dennis completed victory at the Tour Down Under this morning to secure his first UCI WorldTour stage-race triumph.
The BMC Racing rider maintained his overall lead over the 90km final stage to pip Australian compatriot Richie Porte of Team Sky to the title by two seconds.
Dennis's teammate Cadel Evans ended the final stage race of his career 20 seconds back in third.
"I had to make sure I kept within distance of Richie, especially after that little spill with about two and a half laps to go," Dennis told reporters.
"It was just about following him and making sure that if there was a split, it wasn't too hard to jump across."
Wouter Wippert sprinted over the line first on stage six, which was a ride through the centre of Adelaide.
