Chris Froome will be crowned Tour de France champion for the second time in three years on Sunday after defending his lead on the penultimate stage.
The Team Sky rider negotiated the 110.5km cycle from Modane Valfrejus to Alpe d'Huez to keep himself in the yellow jersey heading to Paris.
The 30-year-old, who clinched his first Tour de France title back in 2013, holds an overall lead of 1:12 over Movistar's Nairo Quintana.
However, Froome once again encountered trouble with spectators, who spat at him from the side of the road.
Stage 20 of the competition was won by breakaway rider Thibaut Pinot of FDJ.
