Marcel Kittel has won the fourth stage of the Tour de France, making it a total of three stage victories for the German in this year's event.
The Giant-Shimano rider edged past the finishing line on Tuesday following a 163.5km cycle from Le Touquet-Paris-Plage to Lille Metropole.
Katusha's Alexander Kristoff had to settle for second place, while FDJ's Arnaud Demare came in third.
Meanwhile, Cannondale rider Peter Sagan and Europcar's Bryan Coquard completed the top five.
Defending champion Chris Froome of Team Sky fell off his bike just 6km into the race, and he was unable to make up the difference as Kittel continued his strong start to the tour.
