Michael van Gerwen has seized control of the 2022 Premier League with victory on week nine in Leeds.
The Dutchman was below par last week as he suffered a quarter-final defeat at the hands of James Wade, but it was a role reversal in the final on Thursday night.
A clinical Van Gerwen hit six of his nine double attempts to record a 6-1 triumph, averaging 103.87 in the process, to move three points clear at the top of the table.
As a result of Gary Anderson testing positive for coronavirus, Van Gerwen had receive a bye through to the last four, where he posted a 6-3 win over Peter Wright.
Wade enjoyed hard-fought victories over Gerwyn Price, in a last leg decider, and second-placed Jonny Clayton by a 6-4 scoreline.
Michael Smith and Joe Cullen bowed out in the quarter-finals to Wright and Clayton respectively.
