Anastasia Dobromyslova wins Blackpool crown

Russia's Anastasia Dobromyslova wins the BDO World Trophy by beating world champion Lisa Ashton in the women's final at Blackpool's Tower Ballroom.

Anastasia Dobromyslova won the BDO World Trophy on Sunday by beating world champion Lisa Ashton in the women's final.

Ashton had been in fine form all week at Blackpool's Tower Ballroom, dropping just two legs during her victories over Julie Gore, Dee Bateman and Fallon Sherrock.

The Welsh thrower appeared to be on the verge of winning her second major title in 29 days when she stepped up to throw for the trophy, leading Dobromyslova 6-5.

However, the Russian took out 94 to break back, before going on to seal a 9-7 victory with a nerveless double top.

Dobromyslova's path to the final included wins over Lorraine Farlam, Sharon Prins and Irina Armstrong.
