Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis through at European Championship

Gary Anderson and Adrian Lewis both progress through to the quarter-finals of the European Championship.

Gary Anderson has edged out Simon Whitlock to reach the quarter-finals of the European Championship.

Whitlock had held a 5-3 advantage, but Anderson, the 2015 world champion, stormed back to win by a 10-8 scoreline, hitting six maximums in the process.

Former European champion Adrian Lewis is also through to the last eight after emerging victorious from a see-saw encounter with Justin Pipe.

Pipe edged ahead during the middle stages of the contest, but Lewis finished strongly, winning five of the last six legs to secure the triumph.

Dave Chisnall saw off Stephen Bunting by a 10-6 scoreline in a high-scoring encounter that included 17 maximums, while John Henderson made light work of Rowby-John Rodriguez, eventually registering a 10-2 success over the Austrian.
