Defending champion Christian Kist has been dumped out by Robbie Green in a dramatic start to the 2013 BDO World Championship in Frimley Green.
Fifth seed Green was quick out of the blocks on the Lakeside stage and took the first set without dropping a leg.
Kist responded in the second set to draw level but defeat in a tense third set turned the tide against the 2012 winner.
The Dutchman lost the final set 3-1 to slip to an opening-day defeat by the same scoreline at the hands of a jubilant Green.
Irish qualifier Jason Cullen also progressed in the afternoon session, easing past 11th seed Martin Atkins in an impressive performance.
