Phil 'The Power' Taylor has continued his dominance over the world of darts by winning his 16th World Championship crown.
Taylor beat Michael van Gerwen 7-4 in a final of high quality that saw both players in fine form.
The Dutchman raced into a 2-0 lead before Taylor brought it back to 2-2. Van Gerwen then won two more consecutive sets, and had a chance to extend his lead to 5-2, but just missed the double.
Taylor responded by winning the next five sets, finishing on a 91 checkout to claim the title, further enhancing his reputation as the greatest darts player of all time.
The 52-year-old was awarded the Sid Waddell trophy, as well as a cheque for £200,000.
