Michael van Gerwen has recorded an 11-3 victory over Phil Taylor to win the Premier League for the second time in his career.
The world number one had not suffered defeat in the tournament since week one and he continued his relentless form in a dominant showing on Thursday night at London's O2 Arena.
After easing to a 10-4 win over Adrian Lewis in the semi-finals, Van Gerwen found himself behind after three legs against Taylor but he would lose just one of the next 10 legs against the six-time winner of the event.
Taylor had done well to edge out defending champion Gary Anderson 10-7 in the last four but he had no answer to five maximums and an average of 104.68 from Van Gerwen.
Van Gerwen's victory in 2013 also came against Taylor, with the Dutchman running out a 10-8 victor on that occasion.
