Scott Waites has completed his second remarkable fightback in the space of 24 hours to reach the BDO World Championship semi-finals with a 5-4 victory over Glen Durrant.
On Thursday night, Waites overturned a three-set deficit to beat Geert De Vos to progress into a last-eight clash with top seed Durrant.
Despite taking the first set, Waites was second best to Durrant for much of the contest, and he went into the third leg of the seventh leg 4-2 behind and 2-0 down in legs.
However, the 38-year-old reeled off three successive legs to save the match before holding his nerve to power through the remaining two sets to keep his hopes of a second world title alive.
Waites will now face Jamie Hughes for a place in the final after the fourth seed produced his best performance of the tournament to comfortably see off Wesley Harms.
Hughes struggled for form during his opening two matches but he hit nine 180s and averaged over 94 in seeing off his Dutch opponent by a 5-1 scoreline.
