Sweden's Peter Sajwani has recorded one of the biggest surprises at Lakeside to defeat number one seed James Wilson in the opening round.
Sajwani, a 42-year-old supermarket manager, averaged just over 73 during his preliminary game against Sam Head but he improved that by 12 points to dispatch the 2013 World Masters winner.
It appeared as though Wilson would race through the best-of-five contest after averaging just under 110 in edging into an early lead, but a run of 17 missed attempts at a double saw the momentum swing in Sajwani's direction.
After moving into a 2-1 advantage, the pressure increased on Sajwani but he maintained his composure to take the fourth set without reply to cause one of the biggest shocks in the tournament's history.
Sajwani will now play either Robbie Green or Darius Labanauskas in the last 16.
