Tonia Couch, Sarah Barrow head to Rio training camp

Diving coach Andy Banks believes that Team GB pair Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch will gain vital experience at a training camp in Rio ahead of the 2016 Olympics.

Diving coach Andy Banks believes that Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow will benefit from being at a training camp in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the 2016 Olympics.

The Plymouth pair have travelled to a Team GB camp in Brazil with the hope of gaining experience ahead of the Games.

"It's all about seeing where we will be competing and so it should be an interesting fact-finding trip," Banks told Herald Sport.

"We will be seeing the Olympic pool, which is an outdoor one and as any diver will tell you that can throw up its own set of difficulties with the elements. So, we will be experiencing the weather conditions, wind and rain and sun glare etc, every little bit of knowledge helps."

Barrow and Couch won silver in the 10m synchro at the Commonwealth Games last year.
