Antony Cotton hints at a major new storyline for Sean on Coronation Street.

Antony Cotton has revealed that his Coronation Street character Sean will have a major storyline in the near future.

Sean has been a firm fixture on the cobbles since 2003 but has mainly been a background character in recent years, with his last major plotline coming almost four years ago when he was temporarily made homeless.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Cotton revealed that Sean's son Dylan (Liam McCheyne) will soon be re-entering his life.

"I have a great year ahead," he said. "Sean is going to finally get his son Dylan back home for a great run of storylines that will map out the next 12 months.

"There also may be some love on the horizon too."

Last year Cotton appeared to criticise the soap for having too many "issued-based" storylines.
