ITV3's screenings of classic Coronation Street, Emmerdale added to ITV Hub

Classic episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale - currently airing on ITV3 - are to be made available on the ITV Hub.

ITV has decided to make classic episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale available on demand via the ITV Hub.

Both soaps have been re-airing on ITV3 for the last few years but the episodes have not been added to the ITV Hub after transmission until now.

The coronavirus lockdown has seen a boost for on-demand viewing across the board, however, prompting ITV to start making the episodes available on the Hub after they first broadcast on ITV3.

Coronation Street repeats are currently in the summer of 1995, where Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has just made his debut and developed an apparent obsession with Deirdre Rachid (Anne Kirkbride).

The broadcaster has also announced that additional classic episodes of both soaps will be made available on subscription service BritBox from May 14.

The streaming platform currently houses just 26 episodes of Corrie from its 60-year history, while there are just 14 episodes of Emmerdale, the majority of which come from the last decade.
