Scott Taylor is to reprise his role as an old schoolfriend of Todd Grimshaw on Coronation Street some 18 years after his last appearance.

Scott Taylor is to reprise his role as Stuart Fergus on Coronation Street after an 18-year absence.

The actor played a schoolmate of Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) for three episodes in 2003 as part of a storyline that saw Todd toy with the idea of going to university.

According to The Sun, the character will reappear on the street after his young son dies and is being looked after at the undertakers, where Todd works.

The newspaper says that Todd will be serving his notice at the time, having been sacked by George (Tony Maudsley) for upselling his clients, but Todd's care in dealing with Stuart will provoke a change of heart.

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
