The CW gives early renewals for 2021-22 to 12 key shows, including Batwoman, The Flash, Riverdale and Charmed.

The CW has given early renewals to 12 shows for the 2021-22 season, representing almost its entire programming lineup from the current season.

The pickup includes cult favourites Batwoman, The Flash, Riverdale, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Charmed and Roswell, New Mexico, as well as Dynasty, Legacies, All American and Nancy Drew.

The reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger starring Jared Padalecki, Walker, will return for a second season while its current season order has been boosted by five episodes.

"Though we're just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals," said CW CEO Mark Pedowitz.

"[This] allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season."

The CW has also ordered an extra two episodes for the first season of Superman & Lois ahead of its premiere on February 23.
