Jaz Deol exits EastEnders after three years playing Kheerat Panesar.

Jaz Deol has quit EastEnders after three years playing Kheerat Panesar, it has been confirmed.

The character's sudden exit came in Thursday night's episode, which saw Kheerat confess to the murder of Ranveer in order to save his mother Suki (Balvinder Sopal) from going to prison.

After saying goodbye to girlfriend Stacey (Lacey Turner), Kheerat waited with his family in the Square for the police to arrive and arrest him.

A BBC spokeswoman confirmed: "We can confirm that Jaz has left EastEnders and we wish him all the very best for the future."

Deol's departure comes after a busy year for EastEnders exits, with the likes of Gray (Toby Alexander-Smith), Tiffany (Maisie Smith), Keegan (Zack Morris), Nancy (Maddy Hill), Peter (Dayle Hudson), Rainie (Tanya Franks) and Stuart (Ricky Champ) all having left in 2022.

Mick (Danny Dyer), Janine (Charlie Brooks) and Lola (Danielle Harold) are also due to bow out in the coming months.
