Filming on the new series of MasterChef: The Professionals has begun with new coronavirus safety measures in force on set.

According to Deadline, production on the 13th series of the spinoff show is underway in its usual location at 3 Mills Studios.

The publication says that Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace are all back as judges and hosts for the new run.

A show spokeswoman confirmed: "We are ensuring that all COVID-19 filming protocols are being adhered to as set out in industry-wide filming guidelines published last week."

The commencement of filming means that - barring a second lockdown in the near future - the show should make it to air as usual this November.
