Taron Egerton drops out of future appearances in Cock for "personal reasons".

Taron Egerton has confirmed that he has pulled out of future appearances in the play Cock for "personal reasons".

The 32-year-old had been appearing opposite Jonathan Bailey in the play, which follows a gay couple whose relationship is rocked when one of them falls in love with a woman.

Egerton fainted during the opening night last month, forcing his understudy Joel Harper-Jackson to step in, before missing multiple shows last week after testing positive for coronavirus.

Harper-Jackson will now step into the role full time for the remainder of Cock's run, however, after Egerton decided to pull out.

"Joel is an immense talent and we couldn't be luckier to have him on board," said Bailey. "I am proud to continue sharing the stage with him."
