The BBC confirms that a third series of The Traitors will air in 2024.

The BBC has officially given the go-ahead to a third series of The Traitors in advance of the second series being broadcast.

The twisty reality show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, was one of the breakout hits of 2022 with a reach of 21 million.

The second series was filmed over the summer and will air later this month, but pre-production is now already underway on the next 12-part run.

"We're delighted a third series of The Traitors has been confirmed today ahead of the second series' arrival on BBC One and BBC iPlayer," said producer Stephen Lambert.

"The Traitors has been so warmly received by viewers, critics and award juries alike. Claudia and the team look forward to keeping audiences on the edge of their seats again with ever more thrilling missions and exceptional players competing in this gripping game of bluff and skill."

The application process for contestants is open online now until February 11.
