Richard Fleeshman is among the stars in a new ITV2 comedy called Deep Heat.

Former Coronation Street star and musician Richard Fleeshman has been named in the cast of a new ITV2 comedy called Deep Heat.

The show follows a North-West pro-wrestling company called Boss Pro run by rebellious wannabe wrestler Holly (Jahannah James), who has most of her top performers poached by her brother Nick Nitro (Fleeshman).

Pippa Haywood - known for Green Wing and The Brittas Empire - plays the siblings' despairing mother Pam, while others on the cast include Paul Olima, Alistair Petrie, Max Olesker, Ivan Gonzalez and Sharon Rooney.

Guest stars across the six episodes include the likes of Matt Lucas, John Thomson, Ben Ashenden and Carla Langley.

Paul Mortimer, content director for on demand and acquisitions at ITV, said: "Deep Heat is a brilliant new addition to ITV2 and ITV Hub as we continue to bolster our scripted comedy content for younger viewers.

"The writers have created these brilliant and hilarious characters set in a fictional pro wrestling company."

Deep Heat is due to begin on ITV2 in March.
