European Footballer of the Year Florian Albert has died at the age of 70, his former club Ferencvaros TC have confirmed.
The Hungarian club have not revealed the cause of Albert's death, although it has been announced that he had heart surgery last week.
Albert made 537 appearance for Ferencvaros, scoring 383 goals on his way to clinching four Hungarian championships.
He also represented Hungary on 75 occasions and retired with 31 international goals to his name.
The Ferencvaros stadium was renamed in his honour in 2007.
