Team GB book men's team foil final spot

Richard Kruse completes a comeback victory against France to take Team GB to the men's fencing team foil final in Baku.

Great Britain will compete for the gold medal in the men's fencing team foil after a closely-fought semi-final victory over France on the red piste at the Crystal Hall in Baku.

The Team GB trio of Marcus Mepstead, Richard Kruse and Alex Tofalides held off the challenge of their opponents to win 45-41.

However, France led 40-39 going into the final bout, leaving Kruse with it all to do against Jean-Paul Tony Helissey.

Kruse, a three-time Olympian with six European Championship medals to his name, turned the tables, taking the final bout 6-1 to secure the win for Great Britain.

In the other semi-final, Italy edged past Russia 45-42 to set up a meeting with Team GB in this afternoon's final.
