Team GB suffered a double blow in the men's individual foil round of 32 as both Marcus Mepstead and Richard Kruse were knocked out at the European Games this morning.
Mepstead was up against Italy's Francesco Ingargiola, narrowly losing 15-14 despite taking a 14-12 lead in the final period.
Meanwhile, Kruse fell to France's Jean-Paul Tony Helissey, losing 15-9 with the Frenchman bagging victory 24 seconds into the second period.
Earlier in the day, Great Britain's Benjamin Peggs and Alex Tofalides failed to qualify from the group stages.
