1860 Munich rule out Felix Magath appointment

German second-tier side 1860 Munich dismiss reports linking them with a move for manager Felix Magath.

German second-tier side 1860 Munich have dismissed reports suggesting that Felix Magath will become their new manager.

Magath has been out of work since being sacked by Fulham last year and is believed to be keen on a return to Munich, where he won back-to-back Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal doubles with Bayern.

However, 1860 club director Noor Basha has poured cold water on the rumours.

"Magath's not coming," Basha told Sport1. "Everything that is being reported on this is false.

"It's all about politics and this is damaging to the club, and I'm particularly sorry for the fans."

Magath has a 20-year career in management and Fulham is the only team outside of Germany that he has taken charge of.
