Craig Brown slams Aberdeen defence following Inverness defeat

Craig Brown is disappointed with the way that Aberdeen defended against against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at home on Tuesday.

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has criticised his side's defence for their defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle at home on Tuesday.

The Dons went down 3-2 at the Pittodrie Stadium and missed the chance to move to the top of the Scottish Premier League.

"To lose three goals at home, when we've got the second-best defensive record in the league is unacceptable," he told the BBC. "I think, when you're a goal down and get back to 2-1 up at home, you shouldn't lose the game - and we contrived to lose it."

"The first one (goal that Aberdeen conceded), there were circumstances there that we don't agree with. I thought it was a free kick, it wasn't given and we lost a goal.

"For the second one, we softly conceded a corner unnecessarily and from that they headed the goal. And the marking at the corner was, again, poor. The third one we were defensively all at sea."

Aberdeen remain a point behind leaders Celtic in fourth place in the league standings.
