Alessandro Matri relishing Celtic clash

AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri cannot wait to make his Champions League debut for the Rossoneri against Celtic tomorrow night.

AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri has declared that he is relishing the prospect of facing Celtic again this season, with the forward desperate to mark his Champions League debut at the San Siro with a win.

Matri scored against Celtic in last season's knockout stages of the competition while playing for Juventus, but has since re-signed for the Rossoneri after finding first-team chances limited with the Old Lady.

With Neil Lennon's side returning to the San Siro tomorrow night, the Azzurri forward has revealed that playing for Milan in Europe will fulfil a dream.

He told reporters at a pre-match press conference: "There is emotion, for sure. Last playing against Celtic brought me luck, so hopefully I can repeat that again.

"I've dreamed about it for a long time. I would love to get a victory on my debut and score a goal.

"The numbers show that Celtic are better at home than they are away, but they are a strong team and good technically."

The 29-year-old has been restricted to a pair of cameos from the bench since signing for Milan last month, with Mario Balotelli and Robinho preferred in attack.
