Half-Time Report: Ten-man AC Milan trail in Genoa

Ten-man AC Milan are losing 1-0 to Genoa at the break courtesy of Blerim Dzemaili's deflected effort.

AC Milan's two-game winning run is 45 minutes away from being ended by Genoa, who lead the contest between the two sides at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris 1-0 at the break.

In contrast to their illustrious visitors, Genoa headed into the contest in a negative run of form, having lost their last three matches without finding the net.

However, the home side's goal drought was brought to an end in the 10th minute, albeit in fortunate circumstances.

It appeared that Blerim Dzemaili's free kick was going to force Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez into a routine save, but the ball deflected off Giacomo Bonaventura in the wall, which left the Spanish stopper helpless.

Chances were few and far between there after, although there was one more major talking point before the referee blew for the break.

Having already been cautioned earlier in the contest, Milan centre-back Alessio Romagnoli was handed a second booking for a foul on Dzemaili in the 42nd minute. It meant that if his side are to collect anything from the game after the restart, they will have to do so with 10 men.
