AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri admits that his team were lucky to win the penalty that won tonight's game against Juventus.

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that his team's defence was key to tonight's 1-0 victory over Juventus.

The Rossoneri became only the second team to beat the Old Lady this season, just a matter of weeks after their local rivals Inter Milan ended Juve's 49-game unbeaten run.

"This game was a real battle by the players," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia. "We only allowed Juventus one shot on target, while there were four or five great scoring opportunities for us.

"I think the team did its absolute best against a Juve side that is doing great things. It's wonderful that we managed to avoid basically giving Juventus any chances at all."

It was Robinho's first-half penalty that settled the contest, but Allegri has admitted that Mauricio Isla was unlucky to have conceded the spot kick.

The Chilean was adjudged to have blocked the ball with his arm, but replays showed that it struck him in the ribs.

"From the touchline it really did seem like a spot-kick," said Allegri. "But watching the replays, it should not have been given."

Milan are eighth in Serie A.
