Filippo Inzaghi keen for AC Milan stay

AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi hopes that the club's hierarchy sees fit to let him stay on as manager beyond this season.

Filippo Inzaghi is hopeful that AC Milan will retain his services as coach beyond this season, claiming that he has "a lot more to give".

Milan, who sit 11th in Serie A, slumped to their 12th defeat under Inzaghi this season and a fourth loss in five games in this afternoon's controversial 3-2 reverse at Sassuolo.

Speculation is rife that the Rossoneri's hierarchy will axe him at the end of a trying season, but the 41-year-old is keen to stay on.

"I have a contract with Milan and I am honoured to be here," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"Sassuolo wanted me when I was in charge of the Primavera youth team, but I am tied to Milan and hope to stay, because I have a lot more to give."

Inzaghi's side finished the contest with nine men after Giacomo Bonaventura was sent off for a second yellow card and Suso was dismissed in the dying minutes.

Milan had come from two behind to level the scores after Domenico Berardi scored twice inside half an hour - the first of which was shrouded in controversy amid suggestions that it did not cross the line.
