Clarence Seedorf disappointed with AC Milan defeat

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf expresses his disappointment with his side's 2-1 defeat to Atalanta BC.

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf has expressed his disappointment with his side's 2-1 defeat to Atalanta BC in Serie A this afternoon.

The Rossoneri saw their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League take a blow, and Seedorf admits that it will be a struggle for his team to finish inside the top six.

"This is a heavy defeat, as we had come here to win," Seedorf told Sky Sport Italia. "We did well in the second half, but Franco Brienza's goal was stunning. Just a minute earlier we had almost scored with Mario Balotelli and deserved to net a second goal.

"There is certainly still hope for Europe because until a few months ago it had seemed impossible. Now we are battling.

"It's a shame about this result, but we have to wait and see what happens in Torino-Parma. My lads gave their all and I cannot ask for more."

Today's result was Milan's 13th defeat of the season and leaves them eighth in the table.
