Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have the final say on how he finishes his career at AC Milan, according to the club's director of sport Ricky Massara.
The former Sweden international rejoined Milan last month and has made an instant impact with two Serie A goals and an assist in five appearances.
"It'll ultimately be up to him, how he feels and how long he wants to continue," Massara told the Italian media.
"He truly is a phenomenon, and we are very happy with his performance."
The 38-year-old is currently under contract at San Siro until the end of the season but has the option to extend for another 12 months.
Ibrahimovic is in his second spell at the club, where he scored 56 goals in 85 matches between 2010 and 2012.
