Philippe Mexes has revealed that he is hoping to agree a new deal with AC Milan before the end of the season.
The Frenchman has less than six months remaining on his current contract at San Siro, and he can begin to talk to other clubs in Europe about a possible move in the summer.
However, Mexes is hopeful of extending his stay in Milan, despite making just six appearances in the campaign under Filippo Inzaghi.
"In a personal sense I still think I can play at a good level and I have a lot more to give," the 32-year-old told reporters. "The contract renewal? I haven't signed one yet but I hope it will happen."
Mexes has made 93 appearances for Milan since joining the club from Roma in 2011.
