Porto confirm Jackson Martinez move to AC Milan

Porto president Pinto da Costa says that club captain Jackson Martinez will join Serie A giants AC Milan.

Porto president Pinto da Costa has confirmed that Jackson Martinez will move to AC Milan this summer.

The 28-year-old has long been linked with an exit from the Portuguese club and his agent revealed earlier this week that his future was already decided.

It has now been revealed that the Colombian international will be playing in Italy next season and he will complete his switch to San Siro when he returns from the Copa America.

"Jackson Martinez has chosen Milan," Da Costa told Porto Canal. "Before going on holiday Jackson announced he wanted to leave. The €35m (£25.33m) clause is not up for debate and must be paid.

"I learned just now that Jackson has chosen Milan. This is what he wants, the destination is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. I want him to be happy."

Martinez has scored 92 goals for Porto since his move from Mexican club Chiapas in July 2012.
