AC Milan youngster Jherson Vergara has signed for Serie A rivals Parma on loan.
The Colombian defender said that he is delighted to be following in the footsteps of his compatriot Faustino Asprilla, who completed two stints with Parma in the 1990s.
"I am happy to play for Parma, it is an honour and I want to do well with my new team," he told the Parma's official TV channel.
"I saw the videos of Asprilla with this jersey, he is a big idol for all of us in Columbia, especially for those who were children at the time like me."
The 19-year-old, who joined Milan from Deportes Quindio last summer, has caps for Colombia at Under-20 level.
