League Two roundup: Burton move into promotion places

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action, where Burton move into the promotion places and several relegation candidates ease their fears.

Burton Albion continued their fine form to move into League Two's automatic promotion places, beating Exeter City 4-2 this afternoon.

They remain behind leaders Gillingham and second-place Port Vale though, both of whom recorded 1-0 away wins. Vale beat Torquay United while Gillingham saw off Chesterfield.

Northampton Town are just a point behind Burton after they beat Plymouth Argyle courtesy of a Jake Cole own goal.

At the bottom, AFC Wimbledon jumped off the foot of the table to 21st after a Kevin Sainte-Luce goal saw them win 1-0 at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Accrington Stanley remain in the bottom two after a 2-2 draw at home to Cheltenham Town. Stanley had come from a goal down to lead after a James Beattie brace, but Marlon Pack's second of the game ensured the points were shared.

Aldershot Town continued their recent form, beating Fleetwood Town 2-0 with Danny Hylton getting both goals.

Elsewhere it finished goalless between Oxford United and York City, and between Barnet and Rochdale.

Morecambe and Bristol Rovers drew 1-1, while a late goal from Britt Assombalonga saw Southend United win 2-1 at Wycombe Wanderers.
